Hmmm...at the Gym

Last night, I took a Body Combat class at the gym. I really enjoyed it since it reminded me of my kickboxing days at GW. Random. Anyway, we had two instructions. Girl 1: Buff and loud and intense but kept you motivated. Girl 2: Equally intense, quiet girl who was VERY overweight. Now here is my point: I have no problem with people being overweight but I can't get motivated to work out in a new class when my instructor is not in shape. I go to the gym to get fit, I want to see my instructor really fit so I know what I am working towards. This girl had a solid 80 pounds to lose in her belly and arms.

Am I being harsh or would other people want an in shape instructor as well?

no, I don't think you're being harsh -- as an instructor, I feel like pat of her job is to set an example, and she's not doing that. More power to her for becoming an instructor and putting herself out there, but I agree with you. It's like going to a doctor and then seeing them smoking outside.
